Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Strawberries in a silver dish, cherries and white currents in a wanli bowl, with a bread roll and silver cup by Floris van Schooten. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,251.27). Admittedly, works by Floris van Schooten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table in May 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strawberries in a silver dish, cherries and white currents in a wanli bowl, with a bread roll and silver cup von Floris van Schooten zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.251,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Floris van Schooten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.250,00.
