Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Portrait Of Armand Henri Louis Jacob Tronchin (1794-1865), Circa 1800 by Firmin Massot was auctioned at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - CHF 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at CHF 4,375.00 (€ 4,114.78). Admittedly, works by Firmin Massot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Elizabeth Broadhead, later Lady Dashwood (1801-1889), small full-length, in a white dress, seated in a landscape, holding a sun hat in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 26,257.27).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of Armand Henri Louis Jacob Tronchin (1794-1865), Circa 1800 von Firmin Massot im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Zürich versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – CHF 1.200,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit CHF 4.375,00 (€ 4.114,78) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Firmin Massot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Elizabeth Broadhead, later Lady Dashwood (1801-1889), small full-length, in a white dress, seated in a landscape, holding a sun hat im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 26.257,27).
