In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Buckingham Mountain in October 18 1/8 x 20 1/8 in. (46 x 51.1 cm.) by Fern Coppedge. The »bidding war« ended at USD 44,475.00 (€ 41,445.35), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fern Coppedge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Village Hillside, which sold at auction in June 2016 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,298.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buckingham Mountain in October 18 1/8 x 20 1/8 in. (46 x 51.1 cm.) von Fern Coppedge zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.475,00 (€ 41.445,35) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fern Coppedge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Village Hillside beobachtet, die im Juni 2016 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.298,77) versteigert wurde.
