Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Winter Along The Towpath by Fern Coppedge. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 34,408.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fern Coppedge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Village Hillside in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,298.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Along The Towpath von Fern Coppedge zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 34.408,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fern Coppedge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Village Hillside im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.298,77).
