Westminster Bridge ou Westminster Clock Tower (B. 156)
etching, aquatint, drypoint and roulette, 1884, on laid paper, presumably an intermediate state between 2 and 3 (of six), with margins, pale light-staining, the left plate edge slightly worn (reinforced with paper tape on the reverse), foxing and minor surface soiling mostly in the margins and on the reverse, a small loss at the upper right margin edge, old glue remains with associated skinning along the reverse of the margin edges, otherwise in good condition

In February 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Westminster Bridge ou Westminster Clock Tower (B. 156) by Félix Buhot. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,213.84), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Félix Buhot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Une Scène Nocturne Avec Le Boulevard Montmartre, la Taverne du Bagne Et la Ménagerie Pezon Au Fond in March 2005 with an auction result of EUR 10,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Westminster Bridge ou Westminster Clock Tower (B. 156) von Félix Buhot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.213,84) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Félix Buhot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Une Scène Nocturne Avec Le Boulevard Montmartre, la Taverne du Bagne Et la Ménagerie Pezon Au Fond im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.200,00.
