Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Virgin And Child In The Clouds by Federico Barocci was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,110.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Federico Barocci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Saint John the Evangelist, an oil study for The Entombment of Christ in the church of Santa Croce, Senigallia in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,376,522.96).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Saint John the Evangelist, an oil study for The Entombment of Christ in the church of Santa Croce, Senigallia im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.762.500,00 (€ 1.376.522,96).
