The work A nude leaning forward by Federico Barocci was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2005. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,023.14), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Federico Barocci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Saint John the Evangelist, an oil study for The Entombment of Christ in the church of Santa Croce, Senigallia in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,376,522.96).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.023,14) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Federico Barocci erzielen.
