Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art auction, the work The Busy Port changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,385.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 120,116.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey konnte im Januar 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit The Busy Port für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.385,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 120.116,11).
