Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nude, Lady C by Euan Uglow was sold in the British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 117,458.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Euan Uglow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Striding Nude, Blue Dress in March this year with an auction result of GBP 504,000.00 (€ 573,397.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nude, Lady C von Euan Uglow wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 117.458,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Euan Uglow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Striding Nude, Blue Dress im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 504.000,00 (€ 573.397,35).
