Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Lightest Painting On Earth by Euan Uglow was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 102,746.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Euan Uglow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Striding Nude, Blue Dress in March this year with an auction result of GBP 504,000.00 (€ 573,397.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Lightest Painting On Earth von Euan Uglow wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 102.746,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Euan Uglow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Striding Nude, Blue Dress im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 504.000,00 (€ 573.397,35).
