Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A riverside rest by Etty Horton was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2003. The price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,064.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Etty Horton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,072.79).
