Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Etty Horton could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work A shepherd and his flock on a country track changed hands for GBP 235.00 (€ 384.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by Etty Horton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,072.79).
