In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage by Etty Horton. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,072.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage is the most expensive artwork by Etty Horton that we have observed at auctions so far.
