Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Farm near Loughton, Essex by Etty Horton. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 763.75 (€ 1,235.73). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Etty Horton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,072.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farm near Loughton, Essex von Etty Horton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 763,75 (€ 1.235,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Etty Horton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A horseman by a pond in a wooded landscape; and A horse and cart by a cottage beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.072,79) versteigert wurde.
