This artwork by Ethel Carrick Fox achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2017. In the Australian Art auction, the work Sur La Plage sold for GBP 118,750.00 (€ 133,635.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ethel Carrick Fox have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Market, Under Trees in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,008,000.00 (€ 609,863.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ethel Carrick Fox erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Sur La Plage für GBP 118.750,00 (€ 133.635,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ethel Carrick Fox auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Market, Under Trees im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.008.000,00 (€ 609.863,31).
