Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Ponte Vecchio, Florence by Ethel Carrick Fox was auctioned at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The price achieved of AUD 64,800.00 (€ 39,035.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethel Carrick Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Market, Under Trees in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,008,000.00 (€ 609,863.31).
