The »bidding war« ended at AUD 96,000.00 (€ 59,028.62), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethel Carrick Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Market, Under Trees in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,008,000.00 (€ 609,863.31).

Die Arbeit Australian On Balmoral Beach, Sydney von Ethel Carrick Fox wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 96.000,00 (€ 59.028,62) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
