This artwork by Ethel Carrick Fox achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Marche Aux Fleurs A Venise sold for AUD 50,400.00 (€ 30,360.78) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethel Carrick Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Market, Under Trees in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,008,000.00 (€ 609,863.31).
