Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Arab Group by Ethel Carrick Fox was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Sydney in August 2004. The price achieved of AUD 2,868.00 (€ 1,664.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ethel Carrick Fox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Market, Under Trees in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,008,000.00 (€ 609,863.31).
