Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bahía de Matanzas by Esteban Chartrand was sold in the The Latin American Sale auction at Christies in New York in June 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,150.00 (€ 22,158.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Esteban Chartrand - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ingenio Con Río, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,149.43).

Die Arbeit Bahía de Matanzas von Esteban Chartrand wurde im Juni 2000 in der Auktion The Latin American Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.150,00 (€ 22.158,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
