In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work A Cuban Landscape by Esteban Chartrand. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,696.90), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Esteban Chartrand - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ingenio Con Río, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,149.43).

Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cuban Landscape von Esteban Chartrand zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.696,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Esteban Chartrand mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ingenio Con Río beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 74.500,00 (€ 57.149,43) versteigert wurde.
