Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Atardecer (Sunset) by Esteban Chartrand was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2011. The price achieved of USD 34,375.00 (€ 25,551.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Esteban Chartrand - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ingenio Con Río, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,149.43).

Die Arbeit Atardecer (Sunset) von Esteban Chartrand wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 25.551,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Esteban Chartrand mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ingenio Con Río beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 74.500,00 (€ 57.149,43) versteigert wurde.
