This artwork by Esko Männikkö achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2018. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work Untitled, 2009 sold for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,515.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Esko Männikkö - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work (I-Ii) Kuivaniemi (Iii-Iv) Savukoski, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,567.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Esko Männikkö erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 2009 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.515,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Esko Männikkö mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit (I-Ii) Kuivaniemi (Iii-Iv) Savukoski beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.567,18) versteigert wurde.
