Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Keyhole 1 by Erwin Olaf was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 14,420.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erwin Olaf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hallway from Hope, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,916.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Keyhole 1 von Erwin Olaf kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 14.420,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Erwin Olaf mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hallway from Hope beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 34.916,20) versteigert wurde.
