Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nude Distortion by Erwin Blumenfeld was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,800.00 – 2,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 510.00 (€ 417.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Erwin Blumenfeld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Manina, Paris in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 98,937.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nude Distortion von Erwin Blumenfeld im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.800,00 – 2.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 510,00 (€ 417,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Erwin Blumenfeld erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Manina, Paris im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.500,00 (€ 98.937,10).
