It achieved a price of USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,239.21), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May last year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000.00 (€ 14,234,460.91).

Die Arbeit Destination Unknown von Ernie Barnes wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.239,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000,00 (€ 14.234.460,91).
