Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work High Aspirations by Ernie Barnes was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 857,750.00 (€ 786,349.47), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May last year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000.00 (€ 14,234,460.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit High Aspirations von Ernie Barnes wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 857.750,00 (€ 786.349,47) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000,00 (€ 14.234.460,91).
