This artwork by Ernest Shepard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2014. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A sketch of Pooh sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,611.69) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Shepard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Shepard erzielen.
