Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eeyore, Owl, Toad, Ratty, Piglet, Badger, and Winnie-the-Pooh preparing for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II by Ernest Shepard was sold in the British Art: The Jubilee Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The price achieved of GBP 60,480.00 (€ 70,260.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Shepard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin.", which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Eeyore, Owl, Toad, Ratty, Piglet, Badger, and Winnie-the-Pooh preparing for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II von Ernest Shepard wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion British Art: The Jubilee Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 70.260,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden.
