Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The King In Africa by Ernest Shepard was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The price achieved of GBP 813.00 (€ 925.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Shepard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).

Die Arbeit The King In Africa von Ernest Shepard kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 813,00 (€ 925,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Shepard erzielen.
