In November 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work When I Dream in Paris by Erica Hestu Wahyuni. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 6,792.73), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erica Hestu Wahyuni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Great Africa Safari, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 24,700.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit When I Dream in Paris von Erica Hestu Wahyuni zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 6.792,73) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Erica Hestu Wahyuni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Great Africa Safari beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 24.700,83) versteigert wurde.
