Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Appropriation of Jean-Michel Basquiat by Eric Doeringer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,593.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eric Doeringer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five works: Untitled (from the Bootleg Series) in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,712.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Appropriation of Jean-Michel Basquiat von Eric Doeringer kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.593,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eric Doeringer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Five works: Untitled (from the Bootleg Series) im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.712,18).
