EQUIPO CRÓNICA (1964-1981) Compositions the complete deluxe set of five screenprints in colours, and a polychrome multiple with painted polystyrene stand, 1972, the screenprints on card, each signed in pencil and numbered 12/75, the polychrome figure signed and numbered 12/25 in red ink, published by Editorial Gustavo Gili, Barcelona, with the original cardboard packing box with label on the front Image & Sheet 1000 x 700 mm. Multiple with stand 1080 x 762 x 270 mm. Box 1090 x 760 x 280 mm.
Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Compositions by Equipo Crónica was auctioned at Christies in London in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,022.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Equipo Crónica achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jugada Juan Gris (Composición Triangular Dos Veces) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 132,500.00 (€ 173,304.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Compositions von Equipo Crónica im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.022,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Equipo Crónica erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jugada Juan Gris (Composición Triangular Dos Veces) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 132.500,00 (€ 173.304,80).
