Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Undeniable And Unfortunate Truths by Enrique Martinez Celaya was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,461.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Enrique Martinez Celaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beautiful Life, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 44,599.72).
