Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Morning Session, which included the work Man and Lavender Sky by Elmer Nelson Bischoff. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 61,875.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Elmer Nelson Bischoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Cliffs in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 564,800.00 (€ 440,115.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man and Lavender Sky von Elmer Nelson Bischoff zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 61.875,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elmer Nelson Bischoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Cliffs im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 564.800,00 (€ 440.115,33).
