Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shoe-String by Elizabeth Murray was sold in the Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,854.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Murray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Little Fingers in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 437,500.00 (€ 397,041.47).
