Each print signed and sequentially numbered '1-8' in pencil on the mount. Numbered '3' and signed in ink on the colophon. Introduction. Enclosed in a linen clamshell case with embossed credit.

Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2015 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs Day Sale, which included the work Birds in Flight by Eliot Porter. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eliot Porter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees, 1958-1975, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,933.20).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2015 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds in Flight von Eliot Porter zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eliot Porter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trees, 1958-1975 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.933,20) versteigert wurde.
