Sold at the lower estimate price
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Kamaitachi #37, 1969 by Eikoh Hosoe. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,451.96) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eikoh Hosoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yayoi Kusama (Imaged Taken In 1964, Printed In 2016) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 81,600.00 (€ 83,329.57).
