Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections, which included the work A tavern interior with peasants playing cards by Egbert van Heemskerck the Younger. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Egbert van Heemskerck the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Temptation of Saint Anthony in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,607.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion European Noble and Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit A tavern interior with peasants playing cards von Egbert van Heemskerck the Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Egbert van Heemskerck the Younger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Temptation of Saint Anthony im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.607,48).
