Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Waves breaking off the coast of Swanage by Edwin Hayes was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 540.00 (€ 790.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Irish Dutch Boats Off Dover in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,654.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Waves breaking off the coast of Swanage von Edwin Hayes wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 540,00 (€ 790,63) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Irish Dutch Boats Off Dover im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 18.654,68).
