Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A beached wreck and other shipping off Ryde Pier by Edwin Hayes. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,481.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edwin Hayes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Irish Dutch Boats Off Dover in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,654.68).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A beached wreck and other shipping off Ryde Pier von Edwin Hayes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.481,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edwin Hayes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Irish Dutch Boats Off Dover im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 18.654,68).
