The price achieved of USD 13,145.00 (€ 6,655.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Parting Of Marie Antoinette And Her Son in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 92,500.00 (€ 119,078.18).
