Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The North Terrace, Windsor Castle by Edward Dayes was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 41,903.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Dayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Triumph of Beauty, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 126,729.67).
