Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Horses pulling a cart past a lime kiln, boats at sea beyond by Edward Dayes. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,849.92) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Dayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Triumph of Beauty in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 126,729.67).
