Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lympne Castle, Kent by Edward Dayes was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,410.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Dayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Triumph of Beauty in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 126,729.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lympne Castle, Kent von Edward Dayes kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.410,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Dayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Triumph of Beauty im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 126.729,67).
