In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work The Honister Pass From Gatesgarth Farm, Gatesgarthdale, Lake District by Edward Dayes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,991.24), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Dayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Triumph of Beauty in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 126,729.67).

Im Juli 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Honister Pass From Gatesgarth Farm, Gatesgarthdale, Lake District von Edward Dayes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.991,24) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Dayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Triumph of Beauty im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 126.729,67).
