Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Leatherhead, Surrey by Edward Clifford. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,376.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Clifford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Forge of Cupid in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,038.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leatherhead, Surrey von Edward Clifford zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.376,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Clifford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Forge of Cupid im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.038,12).
