The work Some Have Entertained Angels Unawares by Edward Clifford was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,253.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Clifford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Forge of Cupid, which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,038.12).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Some Have Entertained Angels Unawares von Edward Clifford kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.253,54) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Clifford mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Forge of Cupid beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.038,12) versteigert wurde.
