Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,781.42). Admittedly, works by Edward Clifford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Forge of Cupid in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,038.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Miss Eva Parker, Kilauea, Hawaiian Islands, 1889 von Edward Clifford wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection bei Christies versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.781,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Clifford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Forge of Cupid im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.038,12).
