In the NINETEENTH CENTURY ART auction, the work A streetscene with horse-drawn carts and villagers conversing sold for NLG 14,042.40 (€ 6,739.89) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eduard Alexander Hilverdink - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The river Amstel with the Magere Brug in the distance, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in April 2007 for EUR 26,400.00.
